Roadbook : 9 walks discovering our villages & landscapes

Roadbook discovering villages & landscapes

With this brand new roadbook through villages and landscapes you will discover the numerous architectural beauties and stunning landscapes of the Lesse Valley area.

With more than 70 richly illustrated pages, our free roadbook is perfect for preparing a trip to the area. Nine very different walking trails will take you on a journey of discovery throughout the area, from Beauraing through Houyet and Rochefort.

The booklet is chockablock with tips, anecdotes, etymological notes and practical information…as well as detailed directions for your walk. In short, it contains everything you need to know while recharging your batteries on your discovery trip through our villages.

The first walk in Beauraing will take you to the village of Javingue-Sevry for an easy 8,5km long stroll that should take around 2 hours.

The second walk starts off from the centre of the quaint village of Revogne, for an hour and a half long walk (4,2km) which is just perfect for families or large groups.

The last walk is 5,6km long and will take you on discovery-tour of the villages of Vonêche and Froidfontaine. You should allow about 2hours for the walk.

The Municipality of Houyet definitely has a lot to offer to walking enthusiasts! In Celles, we start off from the village square for a 2h30 walk – with quite a steep climb! – for a 6,4km walk discovering one of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Wallonia”.

In Gendron, you can enjoy a 7km walk with a rather challenging uphill woodland path, ideal for those who like tackling a steep uphill climb.

The walk in Hour is perfectly suited for those who’d rather enjoy a leisurely stroll through the countryside; it should take you about 2h30 to cover the 7,4km.

In Rochefort, the walk starts from the Saint-Remy and takes you to the nearby village of Havrenne. This loop walk should take about 2hours and spreads out over 6km and is ideally suited for a family walk.

If you’d prefer a longer walk, try the one in Lessive (the unusual and huge antennae are definitely an eye-opener!), it’s 9km long and should take you about 3hours to walk!

For seasoned hikers, a 6,4km and 2h30 walk will take you on a discovery tour of the tranquil little village of Wavreille. Leaving from the village centre, you can expect a pretty steep uphill climb towards the Griffaloux rock, where your efforts will be rewarded by a pretty spectacular view overlooking the dry valley and the Wildlife Reserve!

This beautifully-made and richly illustrated booklet is available free of charge (English or  French version*) from the Tourist Information Centres of Beauraing, Houyet, Han-sur-Lesse and Rochefort. Or, send us an email and we will send it to you free of charge!

Don’t hesitate any longer; this roadbook is essential for a successful stay in the Lesse Valley ! Enjoy the read!
