Let yourself be surprised by the Lesse Valley, an area famous for its beautiful and bountiful natural heritage !

Ready to be overwhelmed by stunning landscapes and awe-inspiring views? Then the Lesse Valley is just what you’re looking for!

Hiking enthusiasts will love it here, as it really is a rambler’s paradise offering fantastic trails through hilly landscapes or fields as far as the eye can reach, as well as hundreds of miles of waymarked trails.

The Lesse Valley also has a lot to offer cyclists of all ages and abilities: the RAVeL foot- and pathway that is ideally suited for a family day out, but the area also boasts a network of cycling paths. The adventurous among you can roam our green vales or deep forests with their mountain bike...

For anyone wanting to discover the Lesse Valley, our free app 'Explore Val de Lesse' is quite handy; it allows you to a access a wealth of useful information (events, sightseeing..) as well as more than 60 gps-trails. It really comes in handy when you want to explore the area on foot, by bycicle, on horseback and even...by car!

Try and picture a beautiful scenic landscape riddled with romantic brooklets and untamed rivers…The emblematic Lesse for example, the river that shaped the landscape and carved out the caves.

You can discover the river up close and personal by canoeing down the Lesse, an internationally renowned activity that will take you along breathtaking landscapes as well as the impressive needle rocks of Chaleux, vast limestone rocks towering over the Lesse

The Lesse Valley area, snugly nestled on the threshold of the Ardennes massif, derives its natural and geological wealth from the encounter of three geological areas: the Condroz, the Famenne and….the Calestienne!

Our untouched natural environment is undoubtedly one of the many assets of the area, but the valley also boasts chocolate-box villages with discreet chapels tucked away behind impressive castle-farms , while majestic castles keep watch…As well as bustling little towns where you can shop until you drop!

Another jewel in the Lesse Valley’s crown is the friendliness of its people! Come and celebrate our ‘terroir’ (French term encompassing the notions of ‘soil’ and ‘local’ ) during one of our many events and – while sampling a tasty Trappist or other locally-sourced specialty – come and meet the people behind the area, bask in their warmth and innate ‘joie de vivre’. If you’re lucky, they might even reveal their secret Lesse Valley and their favourite spots!

There is so much to experience in the Lesse Valley: a wide variety of attractions, sports activities, as well as a full range of accommodation and a wide range of restaurants where you can enjoy tasty regional dishes or gourmet cuisine !
